Cute... but I don't see myself owning a pair of these.

what else CAN i do.

So it has been about 3 days since being capped... the worst thing that could ever happen to a Gen Y.

The internet (with fast speeds) is like second to food, you need it everyday to survive. Food and internet go together in daily life, well at least, in mine. I really can't recall much of what I did to spend that time, that is, away from my usual activities of using up the monthly data allowance. The only thing that was on my mind was when tomorrow will come, that my life will turn back to the way it was without ever fearing the word 'capped'.

Looking forward to when I wake up tomorrow morning... minus the bit where work comes a few hours after. Oh how am I going to survive standing up for 8 hours and dealing with the crap that goes on.

Wishlist

After trying out some macro shots with my Canon 18-135mm IS lens, I began to think about getting an actual macro lens. I came across the Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro Lens from reading reviews about it and now I want! Although it's quite an old model, and isn't IS (which will cost over 1k if it was), the quality of the macro shots produced by it is spectacular.

Description (http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=30)
"Medium telephoto lens with a macro feature for 1x magnification. Fluctuations in spherical aberrations caused by focusing are suppressed and high-quality images are obtained at all focusing distances. With eight aperture blades good background blur is obtained even when the aperture is decreased by one or two stops. A focusing limiter which limits the magnification to 0.25x is built-in."

I know, it's going to rip another large hold in my bank account after buying the dslr not too long ago. It's surprising to know how much photo enthusiasts will spend on lenses and other accessories because I don't think I'd be able to, unless however, I do become one of them and consider photography as a passion.

Photography for me will just be a hobby, an interest amongst many of my other interests, to keep my creative juices flowing and to make me seem cool. ;D (I kid.)

PS. Bought 6 clear front screen protectors for my iphone 4... for 20 cents, and it just arrived today. Waiting for my 2 covers now...

FOOD PICS.

The best part of a holiday is of course, the food!! London didn't offer many different and good tastings foods like we had hoped but there were some places worth spending money at to eat.

Some places in London/Paris I went to include Jamie's Italian, Laduree (Best macarons, pistachio and caramel my favourites), Pizza Express, The Hummingbird Bakery, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, The Ritz Hotel, Nandos, Maccas and of course, KFC. Other times we just stayed home and cooked. Images below refer to some places I named.

Paris - A weekend

Did a lot of walking yet again in very nice sunny weather. The best part of Paris is no doubt the Eiffel Tower (with a wait of almost an hour to get lift tickets to the top) and the FOOD. Croissants ftw! Oh, and the 1kg steak for 40 euros. Sorry, no pictures of either.

The Louvre was so crowded with tourists everywhere. We made our way first to the Mona Lisa, only to find that taking a photo with it was too difficult. However, after checking out other paintings and sculptures, we managed to find the perfect spot to prove we saw the famous painting up close and in person. Woo!

Rome - A weekend

Making the most of a weekend in Rome, Italy! It was a hot 33 degrees and water was our only saviour. Thank goodness for free cold water straight out from the pipes in Vatican City.

Here is what Borough Market in London had to offer. Taken just with my dslr.

my dslr

Bought this baby in London for 899 pounds. Equivalent to about $1500 AUD.
It sells for almost $2000 AUD in Australia for the same thing, body and lens together.

Great quality pictures with 18mp, has easy-to-use manual functions and live LCD view display.

before & after

Before

After

...looks even more mouthwatering after a digital makeover. Wouldn't it be good if all food in real life had this sort of power? The power of making itself look a tad bit more appealing to feast on.
...nom nom nom.

Obstacles

Ended up finishing a minor assignment earlier than expected. It feels good!

Now to actually make a start with the rest of the major ones... due in a few weeks time, should I start now or later? The earlier the better perhaps... because I want to get everything out of the way to make way for my plane trip to London! It is my only motivation (so far) because there's lots to prepare hehe

To purchase a new video camera and learn a few of the parents' chinese cooking recipes is only the start of it all.

Reviving this blog somewhat.

Daylight savings has ended, and yes, that extra hour of sleep was well worth it but time seems so slow now. I feel like it's 10pm when it's in fact, 9pm. And although it's only 9pm, I begin to fall asleep in front of my laptop. Not a good sign...

Okay, so what have I been up to...

- Graduate Program Applications
I don't know but I find them daunting to do. It's not like I don't want to do them because how else will I kick start my full-time career earning big dollars as a graduate. I feel as if my major isn't helping me with choosing a job I want to do. Or maybe, it's like I am not ready for a full-time job yet? All these thoughts whirling through my mind are making me extra stressed, and also knowing that the deadlines are approaching as each day goes by, I keep thinking about when I will be able to just get over it all and hit that 'apply now' button. What if I don't get into any graduate positions? I can always work my way up from any related job and look forward to the following year...right? Hmm...

- The usual
Yeah, like working and studying, being a good kid to the parents as I should be... and gymming? Still on contract but hardly going. I don't find any motivation now to exercise because I can't gain weight (nor do I feel unhealthy). Working alone make my arms grow muscles from scanning all those soft drinks people buy. Oh my gosh, working during Easter is insane. The amount of people and the pile of items stocked up because the store closes for a day is nothing I've ever seen before. It's a good thing though, for the store's profits!

Head hurts from thinking too much. Until next time. :)

Pony Horse

Pony Horse
- drawn in Adobe Flash CS3

I started out thinking I could draw a horse, but now it looks like a pony because how little hair it has on its head, thus the hybrid name. Lame, yeah I know. I would've named it Ponyyy or Horseee either way if it weren't for that name.

Anyway, so what else is new.

I think I'm being very money conscious now, meaning I was actually bothered to sign up for a new online savings account, one that gives out higher interest than all others they find and close my old one. I'm also avoiding the need to go/spend on shopping unless really desperate to do so. *sigh* It feels like I'm too mature for my own age.

Possessed Chick

I feel depressed, yet angry at the same time... especially today. Leaving it up to time for things to be restored. *sigh*

... over and out.

Turtleee

Turtleee (+1 for emphasis on the e's)
- drawn in Adobe Flash CS3

I had such a LONG shift at work yesterday that went from 2-10pm, hence the relevance of the turtle. I felt so tired as well by the end of it, with both arms and legs aching when I got home. Glad that it's over for now as I look forward to my pay, which I doubt will be much considering how much tax is deducted from it... grr. Speaking of tax, I'm still waiting on my tax return... I wish it came faster so that I can convert me some pounds for London!! Because of how cheap DSLRs are in the UK compared with Australia, I'm deciding to buy mine over there... I'd save a few hundred aussie dollars but warranty won't be international. Therefore, the only thing I must do is look after it like a baby and her mother. :]

I had trouble thinking of what to produce this time around, but in the end, it came out quite well! Shockingly cute, isn't it? :]

Flowerpot

On another note, today was a blistering 43 degrees (c). Besides the neverending sunshine, there was and still is a blanket of thick hot air. It's as if I still can feel it inside my house with the airconditioning on. Not my type of beach weather...

It's time that I get back to drawing random stuff so each time I do come up with something, I'll post it up. (:
